The soul of any great drama lies in its characters—and Lekki – The Series delivers.
This isn’t just a show about glitz and hustle. It’s a deeply personal journey of young professionals struggling to make their mark in the ever-demanding city of Lagos.
Here’s a closer look at the some of the dynamic and diverse cast driving the story:
👠 Awase
Awase is a small town girl who moves to Lagos with the sole aim of making it to the top. A social climber who oscillates between being a devious siren and a sweet innocent girl. Awase is a bit bipolar and is be-devilled by nightmares of a previous life she doesn’t want to to back to. Can she escape her past, or will it catch up with her in her new found fairytale?
💼 Jola Babatunde – The Queen of Control
Jola is the Matriarch of the Babatunde family. She is a controlling woman and overcompensates for her more humble background. She has a niggling fear of losing her carefully cultivated perfect universe and will do anything to maintain the status quo, will her poise crack under pressure?
🚀Inspector Ralph– The Relentless Hustler
A devout catholic, Ralph holds a grudge against the world and is especially frustrated with working in a dysfunctional country where the rich get away with any and everything. His sole motivation is to bring justice to the world. He is consumed with his pursuit to the point that it affects his family life, how much is too much to sacrifice for success?
😎 Kuye Babatunde– The Charmer with an Edge
Kuye is The Chosen One of the Babatunde’s. A sort of Manchurian Candidate who has been programmed from birth to take over his father’s legacy. Smooth-talking, not so street-smart, and always calculating. But his past life threatens to unravel as secrets come to light. Can he stay two steps ahead, or will karma catch up?
💄 Ori – The Wild Card
Ori is unpredictable, fun, and fiery—a true scene-stealer. She adds spark and chaos to the group, often stirring drama with her impulsive moves. Ori is a nervy character whose trauma from being in prison for the murder of a millionaire has affected her. This has pushed her to the brink of drug use and especially her protracted court case that has left her on the brink of extreme poverty. Not entirely evil she is a product of circumstances and has an emotional attachment to Awase who she feels has betrayed her, does she make good on her word?
